How do I set up my Karma Account?

To set up your Karma Account, download the Karma app from the App Store or Google Play. Once installed, open the app and sign up using your preferred method. It’s quick and easy to start making an impact with Karma!

How do I link a credit or debit card?

To link a credit or debit card to your Karma account, click the Link my bank account button at the top of the screen. You’ll be prompted to securely enter your phone number/account credentials using Plaid, a trusted platform used by major banks like Citi and Chase. If you are not registered in the Plaid system, you can continue as a guest and connect your bank account by logging in through Plaid.

Once your information is verified, the pop-up will close, and your connected card will appear in the Settings. Plaid ensures your data is encrypted and protected throughout the process, making it simple and secure to start making an impact.

Why do you need my bank details?

Karma requires your bank details to verify transactions made with your linked debit or credit cards. This process helps us confirm that a transaction was completed through your card, enables roundups to be processed accurately, and allows us to work with cashback providers to ensure you receive your rewards. For information on security of your data, we encourage you to review our privacy policy. 

Is linking my bank account necessary?

Yes, to calculate and provide relevant support in relation to your cashback, we need you to link your bank account. This helps manage your cashback contributions.

Can I link any card?

Most credit and debit cards can be linked with ease. There are a few exceptions to this. If your card is not eligible, you will see the following error message: 

Invalid request: This card is already registered. Provide another card for user enrollment. 

If I link my credit or debit card to Karma, do I lose access to the card’s rewards program?

Linking a card to your Karma Account has no impact on your card’s native rewards program. Think of your Karma Cashback as bonus rewards!

What is cashback?

Cashback allows customers to receive cash rewards when paying with their credit and/or debit cards with select merchants. 

Where can I earn cashback?

How do I earn cashback?

To earn cashback, simply tap “Shop Now” on a cashback offer within the Karma app to activate it. Then, use your connected debit or credit card to complete your purchase.

How much cashback can I earn?

There is no predetermined cashback percentage because cashback incentives are determined by participating retailers and vary by merchant, although cashback from retailers can be up to 15%. 

Can I keep my cashback?

At Karma, our mission is to create positive change by turning everyday spending into impactful contributions. Any cashback earned through your connected cards is automatically directed to the charitable organizations you select, helping support causes aligned with your values. If no recipients have been chosen, the system will prompt you to select your preferred charities. This ensures that your cashback supports meaningful initiatives and contributes to making a difference in the world.

When will my cashback be sent to the charity?

Cashback rewards will be credited to your account within 4–12 weeks, depending on the merchant’s processing time. For full terms and conditions, please refer to the details provided in the app.

Can I see my contributions throughout the month?

Yes, you can see your contributions in action through the Impact Dashboard. This dynamic tool lets you track the real-time impact of your cashback and roundups, showing how your contributions are making a difference — from meals provided to trees planted and beyond.

Can I give to multiple nonprofits?

Yes, you can support multiple nonprofits through our platform.

I want a refund for a donation I made to a charity

Karma does not provide refunds for charitable donations; however, in the event of fraud, we will cooperate with the appropriate authorities to report any fraudulent charity. 

Can I add or suggest my preferred charity?

Yes, you can suggest a charity you wish to donate to on the platform. If the suggested charity meets the relevant requirements and isn’t already enabled, Karma can reach out to the organization to be added to the platform.

Can I see your terms of service and privacy policies?

Absolutely! You can access our terms of service and privacy policies directly on our website and within the Karma app. We encourage users to review these agreements before signing up or using our platform.

What changes can users make to their Karma accounts?

Karma allows users full control over their giving experience. Users can log in via the app and make changes such as:

  • Link another bank account
  • Remove or change linked accounts
  • Enable or disable roundups
  • Change the nonprofit they’re donating to, add new nonprofits, or remove existing ones
Can I cancel my account?

While you cannot permanently delete your Karma account, you can easily manage your connected bank accounts and cards. To stop donations, simply log into the app, go to Settings, and unlink your accounts. This ensures that no cashback is earned, no roundups are made, and no further donations occur, giving you full control over your giving preferences.

Your account will remain accessible, so you can relink your cards and resume your contributions anytime you choose.

Does Karma support all banks?

Karma works with most banks. If your bank isn’t listed, contact us at help@karmaconnect.com.

How will my supported nonprofits receive donations?

Karma processes and distributes donations directly to the supported nonprofits on your behalf. Once you contribute through our platform, we ensure that the funds reach the selected charitable organizations efficiently. Donations are processed through our payment system, and Karma handles the transfer to ensure transparency and accountability. While a small processing fee may apply to cover administrative costs, we strive to keep these fees minimal. Our goal is to make donating seamless and impactful, allowing you to support meaningful causes without additional hassle.

What types of charitable organizations are available?

Karma offers a curated selection of charitable organizations spanning various causes, including environmental sustainability, hunger relief, education, healthcare, animal welfare, disaster relief, and social justice. Users can choose between 1 to 8 causes from the information on charities available on our platform to support initiatives such as tree planting, providing meals, funding education, or offering medical aid. While we strive to include reputable charities based on publicly available regulatory data, we do not independently verify their compliance or legal standing. Therefore, we encourage users to conduct their own due diligence to ensure alignment with their values and any applicable tax or legal requirements.

Does Karma take a fee from my donation?

When you contribute through our platform, you are supporting tangible impact outcomes, such as planting trees or funding measurable initiatives. While a small processing fee is applied to transactions to cover costs associated with our processing partners, your entire intended contribution goes toward the impact initiative. Additionally, Karma earns commissions from participating retailers for purchases made through our Services, which helps us maintain and improve our features. Please note that Karma reserves the right to introduce service fees in the future, with continued use of the Services indicating your acceptance of any such changes.
